Suspect captured after 19-hour swamp chase

Officers with the Taylor Correctional Institution K-9 squad were called to aid Madison County law enforcement in a nearly 19- hour chase that included tracks through swampy areas waist deep in water.

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that suspect Lonnie Yates Hagan, 39, led deputies and the Madison Correctional Institution K-9 unit on a vehicle and foot pursuit that started late Saturday night with a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on private property.
