    Milton Leroy French Sr.

    Milton Leroy French Sr., 93, of Perry passed away on June 13, 2024, in Mayo, just a few short months after his beloved wife, Virginia, who died March 28, 2024. Milton was born June 25, 1930, in Miami to Mr. Henry Darling French Sr. and Lillian Alice Greer French. When he was a young man, Milton met Virginia Lee O’Field and, not long after, they were married and began their life together. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart for being wounded in action. He was a Baptist and a member of First Baptist Church of Carrabelle. Milton worked as a building contractor and a commercial fisherman, and in his spare time, enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Henry and Lily French; his wife of 73 years, Virginia O’Field French; a son, Milton Leroy French Jr.; and a brother, Henry Darling French Jr. He is survived by: a son, Gary French, and wife, Nancy, of Perry; a daughter, Terrie Causey and husband, Guy, of Midland City, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Carrabelle First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary French and the Rev. Guy Causey officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be: Guy Causey Jr., Christopher Causey, Chad Causey, Nathan French, Matthew French and Christopher Carter.
