    Mother Dora Smith

    Mother Dora Smith, 110 years old was born June 15, 1913, to Joe and Annie Williams. She confessed Christ at early age and remained faithful as a servant of God. Upon moving from Greenville, she united with the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. The love and passion she exhibited for Christ was recognized and she was bestowed the title “Mother of the Church” at New Bethel M. B. Church. God blessed her with a long life and she gave Him praise how she treated His people. Mother Dora Smith, answered the call to eternal rest on June 14, 2024, just hours before her 111th birthday. She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Eddie Williams (Lisa), Roosevelt Smith and Joseph Smith (Albertha); two daughters, Elouise Green (Terry) and Chalotta Johnson; 22 grandchildren; 49 greatgrandchildren; 105 greatgreat-grandchildren; special cousins, Lovett and LaDoris Brasby; Godsons Johnathan McGrew; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Linda Griffin and Ida Mae Burney; and all of her caregivers. Public visitation will be held Friday, June 21, from 5-6 p.m. at New Bethel M. B. Church. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 22, at noon at the Kingdom Culture Church, formerly known as the Temple of God.
