Mrs. Wilda Faye Ward, 78, passed away on June 18, 2024. Faye was born Sept. 24, 1945, in Perry to John “Sonny” Grantham and Americus Lorilla Dixon Grantham. In 1964, she married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth, and together they built a happy home raising three children. She was a dedicated wife, mother, homemaker and knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Her house was the gathering place for family and friends for holidays and other special occasions or to see Aunt Faye. The Halloween parties she and Christine put on were legendary. Faye was loved by all, and she loved everyone. She was the best Momma, Granny and Aunt to many. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Kenneth Ward; her parents, Sonny and Lorilla Grantham; her son, Randy Ward; and her brothers, J.L. and Larry Grantham. She is survived by: two children, Darrin Ward and Wendy McHargue and her husband, James; three grandchildren, Lindsey Walker (Jacob), Jason McHargue and Chelly McHargue; five greatgrandchildren, Kensleigh, Ansley, Braylei, Rhett and Riley; two brothers, Clyde Grantham (Linda) and Billy Grantham (Christine); sister-in-law, Jane Coghlan; brother-in-law, Donald Ward; and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m., at Carlton Cemetery with Herbie High and Chris Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, June 21, from 5-7 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
