Reinaldo Blanco, 78, passed away on June 19, 2024, in Perry. He was born Sept. 23, 1945 in Havana, Cuba, to Rodolfo Blanco and Caridad Fiallo. Reinaldo honored his family, and the legacy he left behind is huge. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as the most gentle giant. The loyalty to his wife, his family and all of his friends was priority. He feared nothing, in his world there was always a way. He shared his time unconditionally, but most importantly, with purpose. Those daily calls to check on us, individually, were his favorite part of each day. He knew what he meant to all of us and never hesitated to show us what we meant to him. The blanket of safety and protection that he provided is one we will all cherish for a lifetime. He was a jokester, he loved to have fun, be silly and just laugh. One of his favorite memories was while working with his son after retiring, Rudy, both he and his grandson Noah would team up and simply drive him crazy. Those silly moments told stories for years. In Naldo’s world you were never left behind. Or as his youngest grandson Reinaldo best describes him, a fighter to the end and always with a smile. His love and enjoyment of music was contagious, so much so that as he took his last breath he was enjoying his music. Reinaldo was preceded in death by his parents, Rodolfo Blanco and Caridad Fiallo; his son, Reinaldo Blanco Jr.; and two brothers, Justo and Noel Blanco. He is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Juana M. Blanco; three children, Belkys Blanco, Letty Blanco, and Rudy Blanco, and his wife, Shelly; grandchildren, Dasiel Mesa, Josue Suarez, Yarley Blanco, Yamiley Blanco, Dainiel Blanco, Hannah Griffin (Matthew), Jonathon Colombini (Jordan), Jessica Lemus, Noah Blanco (Haley), AJ Lemus, Reinaldo Lemus and Kiley Anderson; great-grandchildren, Parker Griffin and Carter A-10 Taco Times Colombini; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and inlaws. A Celebration of Life service is planned for a later date.
