    City receives $4.7 million to upgrade water distribution

    A $4.7 million Rural Infrastructure Fund (RIF) grant through the Florida Department of Commerce will help the City of Perry replace 9,740 feet of 12-inch water main between the water treatment plant and main elevated water storage tank (shown above).

    The city council has signed a $4.7 million grant agreement with the Florida Department of Commerce to fund upgrades to the city’s water distribution system, including replacement of an asbestos concrete water main and a number of fire hydrants.
