Lillian Kathleen ‘Kay’ Ross

Lillian Kathleen “Kay” Ross, 74, passed away on July 8, 2024, at her home in Cross City. Kay was born on Oct. 22, 1949, in Cross City to Albert Pendleton and Doris Hersey Pendleton.

She was Baptist, devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated Christian who enjoyed reading her Bible and attending church.

She regularly visited Steinhatchee and loved spending time by the water.

Her hobbies included learning about American history, discussing politics and talking with her friends about topics of common interest.

Kay enjoyed being a homemaker, working as a paraprofessional in Dixie County schools and volunteering as a church librarian.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Albert and Doris; her brother, Victor Pendleton; and her sister, Vicky Tingstrom.

She is survived by: her husband of 56 years, Terrell Ross; three children; six grandchildren; one sister; two brothers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 12, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Jena, with Pastor David Downing officiating.
