Helen Burgess

Helen Burgess, 93, passed away on July 3, 2024, in Perry.

She was born March 18, 1931, in Randolph County, Ala., to Roy Dodson and Ellie Morrison Dodson.

Helen was a Baptist.

She worked with the Taylor County School System as a secretary for more than 30 years.

She loved her family and her grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by: her parents, Roy Dodson and Ellie Morrison Dodson; her husband of 63 years, C.T. Burgess; her son, Mark Burgess; two sisters, Lucy Tracey and Bobbie Cotton; and her brother, Clellan Dodson.

Helen is survived by: four sons, Terry, Chris, Kim and Val Burgess; two daughters, Teresa Jackson and Jan Sheets; her two sisters, Margie Craft and Dinah Lee; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; as a well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Private services were held on Friday July 5, at Burns Funeral Home with Brother David Stephens officiating.
