Multiple firefighting agencies, including the Florida Forestry Service, responded to a large wildfire near Steinhatchee on Monday around 10:40 a.m. The “Sugar Hill” fire near Sand Hill Hunt Club was reportedly fully contained by around 3 p.m. Monday after consuming 48 acres. Resources from Taylor and Dixie County responded to protect several homes that were in danger from the fire, reportedly started by a lightning strike.
