Who will be crowned queen?
Junior and senior girls are invited to register now for the 69th annual Miss Florida Forest Festival Pageant.
Registration forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce, and the deadline has been extended to Friday, Aug. 23.
This year’s theme is “There’s No Place Like Home.”
“We had a banner year of 15 contestants last year and although every year doesn’t boast those numbers, we always have the most fun. It’s just one of those experiences that you’ll never regret being a part of. Our community may no longer be forestry driven, but this is our home…and there’s no place like it,” said Tonya Benziger, who is once again sharing co-chair honors with Lee Newman and Jennifer Schwab.
A meeting with parents and contestants is planned for Monday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m., at Big Bend Technical College (BBTC).
The Miss Florida Forest Festival Pageant will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, kicking off Taylor County’s month-long Florida Forest Festival celebration.
