    What’s next for local economy?

    At Monday’s Taylor County Commission meeting, former Florida Secretary of Commerce Laura DiBella presented an economic and environmental analysis of Taylor County funded by a $75,000 state grant. DiBella has also been hired as a consultant by the Taylor County Development Authority to help lead the agency’s efforts to stave off the economic effects of last year’s mill closures.

    What steps should Taylor County officials take as they work to overcome the loss of two of the county’s largest employers in Georgia-Pacific’s (GP) Foley Cellulose mill and West Fraser’s Perry sawmill?
