    Harold ‘Mike’ Taylor

    Harold “Mike” Taylor, 70, of Perry passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024.

    Graveside services will be held at San Pedro Cemetery on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m.

    Burns Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

    James Steven Farmer

    James Steven Farmer passed away Aug. 14, 2024, from health issues after a kidney transplant at Baylor Fort Worth, Texas.

    Born on March 31, 1956, while his parents were stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga., he spent his growing up years in Perry.

    After graduation from Taylor County High School (TCHS) in 1974 and a few years of college, his friends encouraged him to move to the Dallas, Texas, area. He loved it so much he never left and met his wife, Vicki Bannister, where they wed on October 7, 2000.

    In 1999 he required a surprise liver transplant that changed his life. His attitude and perseverance helped him through many health issues and deepened his love and walk with God.

    He loved cars, music and anything that had to do with family and making memories.

    He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo Farmer, and his in-laws, Don and Bonnie Bannister. He is survived by his wife, Vicki; and his father, James (Jim) Edward Farmer, formerly of Perry and now of Thomasville, Ga., along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and their families: Jim and Mary Jo, and children, Steve and David; and David and Mary, and children, Sarah (Bobby) and children, Maddie Jo and Ella James, and James (fiancee, Stef); and sister-in-law, Lori, and her husband, Howard, and children, Brittni (Will) and children, Bella and Liam, and Tyler (Kadee) and children Benjamin and Graham.
