Carvajal Chike Cook Sr., 47, peacefully passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Though his loss deeply saddened us, we believe he has found peace with the Lord, guided by 2 Corinthians 5:8: “…to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”

Friends and family will gather for his visitation at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, from 5-8 p.m.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, followed by interment at Springhill Cemetery in the family’s plot. Carvajal is survived by: his mother, Nellie Y. Walker-Sears (Henry); his children, Chike and Cavariya; his grandchildren, Kamiyah, Rhylie and Rhilan; his brothers, Gerald B. Walker II and Jarrian Thomas; and his aunts and uncles, Rutha T. Beckford (Vastiana), Christine Hamilton (Robert), James E. Jackson (Mary), Davene Oliver (Floyd) and Myrlene Jackson-Kimble (Everett).
