Deacon Cornelius Johnson of Perry passed away on Aug. 23, 2024.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m., at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Viewing will be held today (Friday), from 4-7 p.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by: his wife, Carolyn Hugger Johnson; his children, Tracy Johnson, Jerry Flowers (Sondra) and Freddie Flowers (Julia); older grandchildren, Yasmine Flowers, Siona Flowers and Krystal Flowers; his sisters-and-brothers-in-law, Alberta (Kenneth) Robinson of Perry, Barbara (Alvin) Thomas of Warner Robbins, Ga., Clifton (Vernecha) Hugger of Georgia, Cortha Hugger of Lakeland, Drucilla (Roderick) Williams of Tallahassee, Katherean Boyd of Hollywood, Irene (Arutha) Humphery of Perry, Ivere Hugger of Perry, Richard Hugger of Dothan, Ala., John (Lawanda) Hugger of Orlando, Kennessia (Danny) Robinson of Tallahassee, Shirley (Eddie) Flowers of Perry and Checoya (Robert) Williams.

CJ is also survived by a close cousin, Ruth Douglas, and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss his presence.
