Allison Collier Ray Jr., better known as “Peewee” to all of his family and friends, passed away on August 31, 2024, at the age of 81. Born in Asheville, NC on October 17, 1942, Allison was a proud Veteran of the Marines and a dedicated glazier by trade. He had a deep passion for the outdoors, finding joy in fishing, hunting, tending to his garden, and working in his yard. . He will forever be remembered as a devoted family man, a skilled tradesman, and a cherished friend to many. May he rest in peace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allison and Odessa Ray Sr.
Allison is survived by: his wife of 31 years, Bobbye Ray; 4 children, Stewart Lowery, of Marbury, AL, Allison Collier Ray III, and wife Debbie, of Barnesville, GA, Michelle Crocker, and partner Laurie, of Phenix City, AL, and Benjye Tuten, of Perry; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was loved by his family and friends for his kind heart and generous spirit.
A funeral service will take place at 10:30AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in the Burns Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Perry. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
