6th annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Day zooms in Sept. 21

    Posted on September 6, 2024

Little Noah Amador’s legacy lives on, and loved ones will honor his memory by hosting the sixth annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Day on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Point of Grace Christian school, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Noah, who was known locally for his fighting spirit and a capacity for joy that few find in a lifetime, battled cancer for more than half his life before he died on April 27, 2021 — one month shy of his kindergarten graduation from Point of Grace Christian.

The theme for the sixth annual event will be “Racing for a Cure.”

“In honor of Noah’s love for all things Mario, we’ll be holding Mario Kart races. Please plan to join us to help raise money to find a cure for pediatric chordoma and to raise awareness for all childhood cancer,” Noah’s mother, Kathy Anderson Amador, said.

Prizes will be awarded for each race, and for the best-decorated cars. The entry fee for each race is $5.

Free popcorn and sno cones will be available for participants, while concessions (hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and more) will be available for purchase.

“Please come out and enjoy the day with us as we help to raise awareness for childhood cancer and raise money to help find a cure for pediatric chordoma. All proceeds go to the Chordoma Foundation in memory of Noah Amador to fund pediatric chordoma research,” Amador said.

Point of Grace Christian, which is hosting the event, is located at 920 N. Courtney Road in Perry.
