Guardian ad Litem will hold volunteer training

    Posted on January 31, 2014

Guardian ad Litem will be offering volunteer training Friday, Feb. 14, in Perry for those interested in being a voice for a child.

The training will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Perry Guardian ad Litem Office, which is located at 103 West Bay St.

“If your heart has been broken too many times by the tragic stories of abused and neglected children, it may be time to take a positive step and make a real difference in a child’s life,” organizers said.

“Volunteer as a Guardian ad Litem and help a child find a safe, permanent home. For some kids childhood means soccer games and family picnics. For others, it means abuse, neglect and foster care, waiting for a chance at a safe, permanent home. Those are the children who need your voice. Volunteer as the Guardian ad Litem and give a child a chance at a future.”

There are currently more than 480 children in Guardian ad Litem’s seven-county area who are involved in court proceedings as victims of abuse or neglect.

For more information or to register for the training, call the Perry office at (850) 584-2159. Evening classes are available upon request.
