Alan will forever be remembered for his passion for fishing and his dedication as a U.S. Coast Guard charter captain for 23 years. His love for the open waters was evident in his favorite fishing spots along the Econfina River and Cedar Key, where he found solace and joy in his surroundings.

His presence will be deeply missed by his wife, Tezz Niemeyer, who stood by his side through every tide and current.

Alan’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Henry O’Taylor and Dorothy O’Taylor; and his former wife of 39 years, Forrest Roberts Massey.

He is survived by: his wife, Tezz Niemeyer; his sons, Frank R. Massey and Scott R. Massey; and his grandchildren, Andrew Massey and Grace Massey.

The graveside service and celebration of life will be held at the Tallahassee National Cemetery on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life as a dedicated husband, avid fisherman, and respected USCG charter captain.
