Harold William Mote went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 8, 2024. He was born Jan. 6, 1951. Harold was a retired employee of Procter & Gamble, retiring after 36 years with the company. He was a member at Church of God of Prophecy. He was married to Pastor Connie Mote, and together they had four daughters: Sharanda MoteCollins (deasesd), Cindy Young, Harriet MotePace and Amy Mote; five grandsons, Harold Demond Wilder (Kadejah), QuoZerius Pridgeon, Josiah Windom, Lawrenzo Coleman and Brian Pace Jr.; four granddaughters, Constance Mote, Princess Akotia, Anna Mote and Destiny Young; two greatgrandchildren, Kevon Wilder and Hazel Wilder; four brothers-in-law, Paul Ponder (Cynthia), Tommy Buggs (Florita), Jerry Buggs (Cynthia) and Levi Buggs; sister in-law, Theria Bentley; and two Goddaughters, Samone Brown and Berletha Miller. He leaves six brothers, Roosevelt Mote, Harry Presley Jr. (Patrica), Wayne Mote, Alan Mote, Jeffery Mote (Shelia) and Ivan Mote (Kimberley); and three sisters, Gail Mote, Gloria Mote and Thelma Mote- McGill (Alvin). He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Bell Hawkins and stepfather, Ulysses; his father, Roosevelt Mote and stepmother, Justine Mote; daughter, Sharanda MoteCollins; and grandson, Kyle Mote. He leaves to cherish his memories a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Harold had a love for music, playing the bass guitar. He also loved working in the yard, planting flowers and fruit trees. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, at noon, at New Brooklyn M.B. Church. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Home is in charge of all the funeral arrangements.
