    Posted on October 25, 2024

A bird’s eye view of Dekle Beach near the intersection of Dekle Beach Road and Dekle Beach Blvd. leading to Jug Island shows the remains and roofs of houses in the rubble scattered in canals, marsh and roadway after Hurricane Helene battered the coast with 140 mph winds and 15-plus feet of storm surge on Sept. 26.
