Beyonne Ali Basha, 80, passed away on Oct. 25, 2024, in Perry.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pa. His roots, however, are here in Perry, Fla.
He is survived by: his wife, Carolyn Basha; his only living sister, Esther Elliot; six children, Adrienne Barlow, Kimberly Bowe, Brigitte Turner, Eugene Gaines III, Abdul Gaines and Beyah Islam Basha; 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister, Margie Gaines.
Beyonne was such a loving person – so loving that he married his wife, Carolyn, twice.
The most important part of his life was his family. Speak to any of his children and know his legacy will live on forever in their hearts.
He was a hardworking man. He was a barber at Daddy’s Place for more than 30 years, while dedicating 56 years of his life soldiering in the Nation of Islam.
Beyonne Ali Basha – a husband, father, community leader, soldier, brother and believer.
He was a great listener and a pillar of support for his loved ones.
His motto was simple: no cussing, no fussing, no fighting.
“Choose yours words wisely” and “What’s your plan?” were amongst his favorite sayings.
His favorite past times included his dogs, cooking and preparing Philly cheesesteaks for the family. He will surely be missed.
