The U.S. 19 bridges over the Fenholloway River just south of Perry are being cleaned and repaired in a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project which began this week.
The northbound bridge, built in 1934 and reconstructed in 1958, has a surface in need of repair, however the structure of the bridge is in good condition, FDOT officials said. Crews are removing up to three inches of concrete with a high-power stream of water, sealing the exposed steel and constructing a new concrete deck.
