For many in Perry and Taylor County, “workplace violence” is a term they’ve heard most often in news reports from areas far and wide.
But never in relation to their hometown. Until Wednesday.
Now, it is the subject of every conversation on the street, every outlet of social media and in headlines across the region.
But for the men and women of Taylor County’s law enforcement, terms
like “active shooter” and “lone gunman” are drilled into their skill set thanks to a yearlong effort by the police department and sheriff’s office.
