Lula (Lu) Wood

Lula (Lu) Wood passed from this life to her home in heaven on Nov. 16, 2024. She was born on Jan. 18, 1945, to Forrest Wood Robertson and Grace Covey Robertson in Pearisberg, Va. Lu is survived by: her husband of 42 years, Larry D. Wood; sister, Linda Robertson Henderson; brother, Arthur Ray Robertson; three nieces; and five nephews. She was a middle school P.E. teacher. She taught two years in Virginia and seven years then finished his career and retired from the Florida Department of Corrections. He was an avid rancher and a member of the Florida Cattleman’s Association. During his retired and later years, you could f ind him sitting under the at Taylor County Middle School in Perry. During her teaching years she coached basketball, softball and volleyball. She was a avid reader, enjoyed singing in her church choir and watching any kind of sport that was on television. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steven Ruff and Brother Gary French officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
