Oscar Morris “Trey” Howard III, 50, was a loving husband, father, son and friend. Trey was born on Sept. 17, 1974, in Perry. He died Nov. 23, 2024. He is survived by: his wife, Jessica; his children, Matteline, Millie and Carter; his parents, Barbara and Oscar Morris Howard Jr.; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Oscar Sr. and Alice Howard; and maternal grandparents, Margie and Wilton Thompson. He graduated from Taylor County High School, Class of 1992, and received the degree of Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2005. He went on to pursue his passion as an attorney and spent 20 years serving countless clients through difficult times and situations. He was respected for his hard work, dedication and expertise. Trey met the love of his life, Jessica, and they were married for six wonderful years. He was blessed with three children, who were the light of his world. Trey was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was a man of integrity, always putting his family’s needs above his own. Trey had a love for riding his airboat, fishing with family, hunting at the camp in Georgia and being the “King” of Jabo. He will be forever known for his giving heart and his willingness to help others. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 3 p.m. at Crosspoint Baptist Fellowship. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private family interment service will be held at New Hope Cemetery at the conclusion of services in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Trey Howard Scholarship Fund at Capital City Bank. Trey will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
