Addressing an overflow crowd packed inside the county commission board room Thursday afternoon, Representative Jason Shoaf and Senator Corey Simon heard funding requests from local officials and impassioned pleas from coastal residents and businesses complaining about state building codes making it difficult to rebuild after Hurricane Helene.
