After spending nearly 40 years on Death Row, convicted killer Douglas A. Meeks may get the opportunity to spend the remainder of his life with the general prison population.
Assistant State Attorney John Weed said that the reversal of Meeks’ death sentence meant his office had to determine whether or not it would accept a life sentence in the case or proceed with a new (sentencing) trial.
