After breaching an outer gate, the 2016 Ford F-250 driven by Joshua James King of Perry was stopped by a security cross cable just inside a second gate at Taylor Correctional Institution (TCI) on Tuesday, June 3. King reportedly had to be “forcefully extricated” and “came out fighting,” striking correctional and law enforcement officers during the course of the incident, while refusing to obey multiple orders to stop resisting.
The Perry man charged with driving his truck through the front security gates at Taylor Correctional Institution (TCI) Tuesday morning, June 3, is being held without bond at the Taylor County Jail, where he faces charges of criminal mischief (with property damages of $1,000 of more), assault and battery on a law enforcement officer.
