Downtown trees damaged by recent hurricanes have been replaced by new bosque elms thanks to two grants being administered by the Chamber of Commerce and funded by the Keep Taylor County Beautiful (KTCB) program. New oak barrel planters and hanging flower pots were recently purchased by the Chamber using KTCB funds. Members of the local Master Gardeners helped plant a variety of plants in the new planters, and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office helped Chamber officials install them along Jefferson Street, along with new colorful hanging plants installed on decorative light poles by city staff.
The City of Perry and Perry-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce is in the midst of several projects that will make Perry’s historic downtown business district more attractive to commerce and tourism.
