What does the proposed ‘maintenance code’ mean for city property owners?

The City of Perry is proposing to adopt a new “Property Maintenance Code” that would set minimum standards for residential and commercial buildings, as part of an effort to “protect the public health, safety and welfare of the community” and ensure that structures are “safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use.”
