Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is being offered free in Taylor County.
The online version of the program is being offered at the Taylor County Extension Office in Forest Capital Hall, located at 203 Forest Park Drive.
Hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tax filers will be able to communicate via Skype with trained volunteers in Tallahassee. Contact the Extension Office at 838-3508 to set up an appointment today.
VITA services are offered through the BEST Project, a United Way of the Big Bend program which “focuses on proactive and collaborative efforts to meet the needs of working individuals and families utilizing strategies that empower them to achieve long-term financial stability.”
The BEST Project is a community coalition of businesses, agencies, government, non-profit and other organizations focused on “increasing the financial well-being of a community by leading an effort to help lower-to-modest income residents preserve and increase their financial assets.”
