Robert “Robbie” Hendry showed up at his father’s door Sunday evening with a strangled dead fox in one hand and blood running down his other wrist.

The rabies alert area is bounded by Harrison Blue Road (County Road 361) to the north, the southern portion of Woods Creek Road to the south, Slaughter Road to the east and James Lane to the west. Health officials said they are monitoring rabies among wild animals in the area and warned residents and visitors that the disease is present in the wild animal population.
