Vizcarra is charged with 49 federal counts

Retired Perry physician Dr. Eulogio M. Vizcarra, 71, was charged with 49 counts of unlawfully dispensing controlled substances in federal court Thursday, March 6.

An April 14 trial date has been set before Judge Mark E. Walker. If convicted, Vizcarra could face five, 10 or 20 years in prison as well as fines up to $1 million.
