Tallahassee celebrates its new park, St. Patrick’s Day

The much anticipated grand opening of Cascades Park in Tallahassee, coupled with the fifth annual St. Patrick’s Festival and Parade, mark a festive weekend in downtown Tallahassee March 14-15.

Grand opening festivities at Cascades Park begin at 10 a.m. today (Friday). This historic, 24-acre oasis sits on the cusp of downtown Tallahassee, catty-corner to Capitol Plaza and will once again be a gathering spot for residents and visitors, organizers said. The park features an entertainment venue, a family-oriented playscape, fitness trails and tributes to its history that spans four centuries.
