Local rivers near flood stage

A powerful storm system moved over Taylor County Sunday, dropping more than four inches of rain in some locations and swelling a number of local rivers which are now in minor flood stage.

The heavy rain sparked a flash flood watch for coastal areas of Taylor County for much of Sunday and Monday while producing wind gusts in excess of 30 mph.
