9 teams advance to JROTC state drill

Taylor County JROTC traveled to West Port High School in Ocala Feb. 23 for the Area II Drill Meet, capturing 13 trophies and five medallions.

Cadets brought home five second place trophies, two third place trophies and six fourth place trophies as well as three second place medallions and two third place medallions. Competing schools included: Columbia, FMMA (Francis Mary Military Academy), Jefferson, Lake Weir, Lecanto, Richards, Taylor County, West Port and Williston High Schools.
