On Nov. 12, 2025, the final batch of pennies were struck at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, as the U.S. Treasury suspended production to reduce costs.

They said it cost nearly 4 cents to make a single penny worth 1 cent, but if you are a penny collector, many now have a value of more than $10,000.

On Dec. l, 2025, Penny Whitfield Dixon transitioned to her heavenly home.
