Learn how to grow your own mushrooms Jan. 23

Registration is underway for a Shiitake Mushroom Workshop in Steinhatchee planned Friday, Jan. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Steinhatchee Community Center.

Curious gardeners, food lovers and nature enthusiasts alike will have a chance to dig into the fascinating world of fungi during the program, which will be led by extension agents Carolyn Saft and Lisa Strange.

Attendees will inoculate their own log, gaining practical experience and step-by-step guidance on how mushrooms grow, what they need to thrive and how to care for them at home.

The $30 registration fee covers all materials, so no prior supplies or experience are needed.

Space is limited, and advance registration is required through Eventbrite.

The workshop will take place at the Steinhatchee Community Center, 1013 Riverside Drive.
