Dekar Mobley Briggs Jr., 15, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 11, 2026. A celebration service in his honor will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. at Stewart Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church. He leaves to cherish his memories eternal: parents, Dekar Briggs Sr. and Krystle Demetra Briggs; siblings, Dekayla, Dekiya Dekaylan; and grandparents, Darnea Moss, Lester King, Gloria Bell and Robert Briggs; great-grandparent, Julia Oliver; aunts and Explore God’s World Adventure Ministries uncles, Jennifer and Donald Gillyard, La’Tara King, Diana Williams and Dimitri Williams Sr.; great-aunts and great-uncles, Lisa Gates, Bobby Gates and Wilhelmenia Golden. He was preceded in death by great-grandparents Tommy Moss, Earlean Mobley and Ed Mobley.
