Smudley “Dale” Perry, 80, of Steinhatchee, died on Jan. 7, 2026. He was a proud Vietnam veteran. As part of special forces, he received many commendations and two Purple Hearts. A local memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Steinhatchee. A memorial service with military honors will be held Friday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Arrangements have been placed under the care of Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel.
