School board moving forward with plan to ask voters for a new 1/2-cent tax on November ballot

When voters cast their ballots during the upcoming 2026 general election in November, they will decide on two separate school tax questions — whether or not to renew a long-standing 0.25 mill “critical needs” property tax for four more years and if Taylor County will levy a new proposed local half-cent sales tax for 10 years.
