    Posted on February 4, 2026

Rabrun Mickel “Michael” Palmer was born on Jan. 1, 1964, in Perry; the first baby of the New Year. He passed away on Jan. 31, 2026, in Tallahassee. Michael is survived by: his wife of many years, Shonda Morris Palmer; his sister, Rita Phillips; his daughters, Jessica “Nikki” (Nansi) Palmer and Danielle (Stephen) Brown; his son Cayden Buzbee; and his beloved grandchildren, Connor Brown (“Connor Man”), Jacob Brown (“Jake”), Katelynn Brown (“Princess”) and Jayce Palmer (“Little Man”), who brought him endless pride and joy. He is preceded in death by: his father, Rabrun Greene Palmer; his mother, Syble Blair Palmer; his brother, David Brian Palmer; and both of his paternal and maternal grandparents. Michael will always be remembered for his deep love of Florida State football. He never missed a chance to talk all things FSU, especially with his son-in-law, whom he loved like a son. Each season began with his hopeful declaration, “We’re going all the way this year!” –and often ended with “They’re Trash!” followed by a few other choice words. His passion, humor and spirited loyalty will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
