A burning yard debris pile escaped and grew into a 17-acre wildfire on Sunday evening just off Hwy. 19 North near Eddie Page Road. The fire threatened multiple homes and other structures before county, city and forest service firefighters were able to extinguish and contain the flames, which destroyed a lawnmower and damaged a stand of planted pines.
