Garden Club welcomes Byers as guest speaker Feb. 18

Local artist Jeff Byers will share the background and details of a nearly 100-piece art exhibit now on display at the Taylor County Public Library with members of the Perry Garden Club at their Wednesday, Feb. 18, meeting.

He will present how the exhibit, entitled “Three Strikes and You’re Out, But You’re Not,” grew from the community’s shared experience of weathering three back-to-back hurricanes.

The meeting will begin with a social at 10:30 a.m., followed by Byers’ presentation at 11 a.m.

February hostesses are Linda Feifarek-Johnson, Vikki Connors and Amanda Beckett, and Karen Falicon will share the “Horticulture Tip of the Month.”

Members are also invited to pay their annual dues ($25) early, and be entered to win a $20 gift certificate from Johnson’s Bakery.
