Once City of Perry Water Department workers stopped the one remaining small leak Tuesday, Boyer Construction crews (above) quickly excavated and filled in the large hole on Jefferson Street Wednesday, clearing the way for final roadway base work Thursday and asphalt paving scheduled by Anderson Columbia on Friday, when the roadway is projected to be re-opened.
The water main break that caused a section of roadway to collapse on Jefferson Street has been fully repaired, and city officials expect contractors to complete roadway repairs on the main downtown thoroughfare by Friday, Feb. 27.
