    Jimmy Ray Curry

    Mr. Jimmy Ray Curry, 82, of West Palm Beach, went home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2026. He attended Jerkins High School, graduating in 1963. He excelled in football as a great player. Jimmy united in marriage to Maude Wright (Wynn) in 1966. They lived in Los Angeles, Calif., with one daughter, Vannessa Raye. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. He attended L. A. Trade Tech College, earning his AA degree. He lived in Los Angeles for more than 35 years, where he played and develop good tennis skills. Jimmy worked and retired as a purchasing manager from the Los Angeles City Department of Water and Power after 30 years. He later returned to West Palm Beach and united in marriage to Dorothy L. Curry. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Raye; two sisters, Bernice Wilson and Jo Ann Sneed; and sonin-law, Keith Mixon. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 20-plus years, Dorothy L Curry; children, Vannessa Raye Mixon of Atlanta, Ga., Barry Raye of West Palm Beach and April and Edward Lamons Jr., of Marietta, Ga.; grandchildren, Vachon Raye (Shauna), Vachon Jr., Jahiem Raye and Edward III; brother, Tommy Sneed; nephew, Keith R. Sneed of Inglewood, Calif., and Jamal Sneed of Palmdale, Calif.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m., at United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach. Viewing will be held Friday, April 17, from 5-7 p.m, at Shuler’s Memorial Chapel in West Palm Beach.
