W. C. Blue passed away peacefully at his home on April 6, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by his family. He was laid to rest on Thursday, April 9, 2026 in Worthington Springs, Fla. Born Oct. 29, 1942, in Eastman, Ga., W. C. lived a life steeped in faith, hard work and the love of the outdoors. He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Oveida Seay Blue. He is also survived by his two sons, Bill (Lori) Blue and Chris (Judy) Blue. His other children include: Donna (Stan) Land, Robby (Janyce) Worrell and Travis (Jessica) Worrell. His grandchildren include: William, Henry (Mackenzie) and Elizabeth Blue and Justin (Jackie), Kristen (Rodney), Kasey and Brandon Blue. He was blessed to have a host of great-grandchildren. He was a proud member of Sardis Baptist Church in Worthington Springs. W. C. began his career in law enforcement with the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and served for 14 years. Later, he moved into investigations for the Marks and Brands Department – now the Department of Agriculture – where he dedicated 33 years. He spent more than 40 years serving the people with integrity. Outside of work, W.C. was a man of many passions. Rodeo, especially team roping and judging, was in his blood. When not on the rodeo grounds, you’d find him fishing or hunting. He served as president, secretary and treasurer of the Breeding Ground Hunting Club for 30 years. He was an avid sports fan as well. W. C. was preceded in death by his parents, Ordway and Mariwell Coleman Blue.
