Colorado State University forecasts a ‘somewhat below normal’ season

Thanks to a strong El Niño, early forecasts for the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season are predicting a slightly “below-normal” season, but officials caution residents that “it only takes one hurricane making landfall to make it an active season.
