    Commission eyes buying Spring Warrior Fish Camp

    Less than a year after using RESTORE Act funds — civil and administrative fines from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Gulf oil spill — to purchase the Spring Warrior boat ramp (above left), the county commission is considering using the same grant program to purchase the adjacent Spring Warrior Fish Camp (right) to preserve public access to the Gulf and the county-owned launching area.

    The Taylor County Commission, which completed the purchase of the Spring Warrior boat ramp last year using a federal grant, is now looking into the possibility of buying the adjacent Spring Warrior Fish Camp utilizing the same program.
