Stopping child abuse before it starts.
That is one of the missions of the Healthy Start Coalition of Jefferson, Madison & Taylor Counties.
It’s a mission that once a year comes with a heaping dose of fun.
This Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Healthy Start Coalition will continue this mission by honoring Child Abuse Prevention Month with its annual Children’s Fun Festival at the City Park in downtown Perry. The festival, which will include games, prizes and lunch, is presented in collaboration with Pinwheels for Prevention® campaign “initiated by Prevent Child Abuse America, a national public awareness campaign that uses blue pinwheels during April’s Child Abuse Prevention Month to symbolize happy, healthy and safe childhoods, said Brandi Turner, program supervisor for Healthy Families Seven Rivers.
